What We Do

A vision to research medical treatments.
We are a Kansas Corporation conducting research and development since 2004. Pharmacological studies have demonstrated that saffron extracts have anti-tumor effects and inhibit the growth of human cancer cells.
Dr. Hamidpour’s vision to research medical treatments is the foundation for Pars Bioscience, LLC. Our work explores the investigation of saffron as a nutritional supplement for use in cancer treatments.
Initially, a literature review of saffron and its application in cancer treatment is conducted. Different preparations of saffron are then analyzed as a nutritional supplement — and the concentration of the main active components of saffron is determined for each preparation.
Two intersecting lines of research.

Anticancer activity from herbal extracts.
Pharmacological studies have demonstrated that saffron extracts have anti-tumor effects and inhibit the growth of human cancer cells. Our research also explores applications in neurodegenerative disorders with memory impairment. Camphor — practically insoluble in water but soluble in alcohol, ether, and chloroform — is studied as a stimulant, diaphoretic, and inhalant; the alcoholic solution is known as “spirits of camphor.”

Traditional medicinal strategies, modern science.
Pars Bioscience realized that traditional medicinal strategies are very attractive — used for over a thousand years in other countries — and have earned serious consideration as potential means of controlling the incidence of cancer. Anticancer drug development using herbs is the primary focus of our research, providing an updated overview of in vitro and in vivo investigations of saffron (Crocus sativus L.) and its principal ingredients.

“The aim of this research is to provide an updated overview of experimental in vitro and in vivo investigations focused on the anticancer activity of saffron (Crocus sativus L.) and its principal ingredients.”
- Provide an updated overview of in vitro and in vivo studies on saffron's anticancer activity.
- Investigate principal ingredients of Crocus sativus L. and related botanicals.
- Inform cancer therapy and chemo-preventive trials with traditional medicinal evidence.
Discuss our research with the team.
